Selle Royal, together with the Sport University of Cologne, has developed the first comprehensive range of ergonomic saddles based on laboratory studies at university level. The result is Scientia - a complete range of 6 ergonomic saddles designed to suit every rider. Scientia saddle selection is based on sit bone width measurements.
Moderate saddles are designed for cyclists who ride in an upright position at an angle of approximately 60°. This position shifts the weight of the rider and the sit bones backwards onto the widened part of the saddle.
