So is it just a warmer Gabba? Not really. The long sleeves make it a jacket that covers a wide range of conditions. As on the Gabba, the RoS emblem means it excels in dry conditions thanks to its high breathability, as well as in wet conditions thanks to CASTELLI's exclusive GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ WINDSTOPPER® fabrics. The front features a lightweight fleece material on the inside with water repellency on the surface, while the lighter and more stretchy fabric is on the back, maximizing breathability and comfort while providing excellent water repellency. The Perfetto RoS 2 jacket keeps all the cold wind out while being much more breathable than the typical polyurethane membranes used on most jackets that try to compete with the Perfetto. Since you stay drier, you don't need as many layers underneath. The beauty of this jacket is that it has no insulation per se, so a thin base layer is just right for mild conditions, while adding an insulating layer (warm jersey or CASTELLI Alpha 2nd Layer) will get you down to below freezing. You decide. The "2" part of the name refers to updates to the latest version, including a YKK® Vislon® two-way zipper for even more adjustable ventilation. Reflective elements on the back are more visible, the top shoulder seam has been moved to the back, and three pockets hold more stuff. The Perfetto still remains a performance fit, but the new model has more room to feel across the chest, shoulders and biceps. This is a jacket that belongs in every cyclist's kit.
