The Scorpion™ Race DH T is named for its traction, whether accelerating, braking or cornering. The central section of the tire has special lugs that increase traction at every stage of the tire's rotation. The central lugs are also pre-shaped for the ability to cut away to achieve better mud removal in mixed conditions, especially for front wheel use. The SmartEVO DH's super-soft compound is combined with large lugs to optimize grip on all types of terrain without compromising overall tire stability due to the stiffer base compound. The DualWall+ construction is downhill specific and features a 60 tpi dual ply carcass reinforced with a cut resistant sidewall reinforcement and rubber liner. This structure provides excellent protection against cuts and punctures while absorbing small vibrations and large impacts.
The Scorpion™ Race DH T is named for its traction, whether accelerating, braking or cornering. The special design of this tire is engineered to allow for grip in every phase of the ride, providing excellent control and stopping power. The Scorpion™ Race DH T will find its best use in intermediate terrain. The special tread design is designed to chase traction in every situation: the lugs are evenly spaced across the tread and have a special shape that maximizes wheel control during braking, cornering and acceleration. The lugs can also be cut along the grooves when terrain conditions are between mixed and soft.

DualWALL+ is a special construction designed for downhill and enduro racing. It consists of a fully dual-layer 60tpi carcass, a rubber insert in the bead area and an additional layer of fabric to stabilize the sidewall. With the experience of our factory riders, we have developed our most reliable bead-folding construction that provides support under heavy loads and in fast corners. The DualWALL+ is the choice of the most demanding riders with the most aggressive riding styles.
SmartEVO DH
Developed by the motorsport department, the SmartEVO DH rubber compound is designed and tuned differently from other Pirelli MTB rubber compounds due to its consideration for maximum racing performance. While SmartGRIP rubbers are tuned with a balanced level of performance for all-round use and for every type of rider, SmartEVO DH is designed to deliver the ultimate in race day performance. It is designed to provide superior grip and confidence in the toughest and most demanding racing conditions where the rubber is subjected to extreme mechanical loads. Both static and dynamic parameters have been adjusted to increase safety and a sense of control under braking and leaning; perception of limit and the ability to engage with controlled slip are as important as absolute grip, we call this "predictability". A key feature of the SmartEVO DH is the combination of two layers of rubber compounds: on the outside is a super soft high performance compound (42 Shore A), while on the inside under the tread is a cushioning compound that provides support and shock absorption. These two compounds work seamlessly together to give the rider a sense of reactivity and precision under extreme side loading, which is typical of downhill racing. The rubber's outer layer has been tuned with the understanding that rolling resistance is still a key factor when competing against the clock. Just like in motorsport, temperature is another key parameter affecting the performance of the rubber: the SmartEVO DH is developed to remain consistent in its behaviour over a wide range of temperatures, from freezing to the right summer ones.
